Joyce Mustin built Blue Magic Scuba in downtown Cozumel as the antidote to cattle-boat tourism. Course Director Javi Agudo — a former Barcelona software engineer — took his first breath underwater in Utila in 2008, never went home, and now runs Blue Magic's professional training program. Together they run a small-boat operation (six divers max per boat) and a Divemaster Internship that has trained more of Cozumel's working divemasters than almost any other shop on the island.

Cozumel International Airport (CZM) sits a 10-minute taxi from the downtown shop. Standard taxi rate is fixed by the airport stand. Shop coordinates pickup recommendations on request.. Joyce meets you at the airport. The journey takes about 10 minutes.

Downtown Cozumel, Quintana Roo, Mexico rewards divers who slow down. You will see a wide variety of marine life on most dives. Joyce dives this coast every week and reads where the day quietly opens up. A 4-diver limit per guide keeps it close — nothing happens out of earshot.

Palancar Reef (multiple sections)

Drift

Cozumel's signature reef. Towering coral formations across Caves, Bricks, Horseshoe, and Gardens sections. Drift dives along wall and cut canyons; AOW recommended for the deeper profiles.

Santa Rosa Wall

Wall

Sheer dropoff on the southwest reef. Eagle rays, hawksbill turtles, and big-school jacks pass along the wall. Strong drift; AOW+ recommended.

Columbia Reef (Deep & Shallow)

Drift

Two profiles for mixed-level groups. Deep Columbia runs along towering pinnacles; Shallow Columbia stays on the reef plateau at 10-15m for macro and photography.

Paradise Reef

Reef

Shallow reef and drift dive. Splendid toadfish, queen angelfish, and southern stingrays. Standard site for Open Water and AOW course dives during the week.

Punta Sur Devil's Throat

Cavern

Iconic Cozumel swim-through cavern system at the south end of the reef. AOW plus cavern training required. Limited to divers with the right certification stack.

Is this really all-inclusive?

Yes. Your trip price covers accommodation, diving (gear included), meals, airport transfers, and DiveAssure insurance. The only things NOT included are flights, visa fees, and personal spending. Optional add-on experiences are available but never required.

What if I need to cancel?

Cancel more than 60 days before your trip and receive a full refund minus a $50 admin fee. Between 30 and 60 days, you receive a 50% refund. DiveAssure coverage also includes trip interruption protection.

How does booking work?

You place a 40% deposit to hold your dates. Your host confirms availability — typically within 24 hours. If the trip cannot be confirmed, you receive a full refund. The remaining balance is due 30 days before your trip. You are never charged for a trip that is not confirmed.
